HEALTH INSURANCE

UC Dental accepts all private health funds and is a preferred provider for Medibank, BUPA, HCF, NIB and CBHS. We are also part of both the Medibank Member’s Choice Advantage network and the BUPA Platinum agreement. This enables these health fund members to receive 100% back on two preventative check-up appointments per year, including x-rays. It also entitles every member of the policy to one mouth guard with no gap per calendar year! Some conditions apply. We have a HI-CAPS facility on site, which means on the spot claiming can be done using your private health fund card. We can also provide a quotation service for some insurance companies, rather than having to phone your health insurance to establish health rebates.

CHILD DENTAL BENEFITS SCHEDULE

Accepted by UC Dental, the Child Dental Benefits Schedule commenced on 1 January 2014 and provides access to benefits for basic dental services to children aged 2-17 years. The total benefit entitlement is capped at $1,000 per child over a two calendar year period. The CDBS has a means test, which requires receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A or a relevant Australian Government payment. The Child Dental Benefit Schedule provides individual benefits for a range of services including examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions. Benefits are not available for orthodontic or cosmetic dental work and cannot be paid for any services provided in a hospital. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS’ AFFAIRS

We proudly support our veteran community and welcome Veterans’ Affairs patients. We bulk bill directly to Medicare for dental treatment that you receive under Veterans’ Affairs. If you have a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Gold Health Card, DVA will fund most dental services necessary to meet a clinical need. If you have a DVA White Card you may be eligible for dental services under DVA arrangements. You do not need to have a referral from your doctor to make an appointment with your dentist.
